Composed around the harvest of 2010, Krug Grande Cuvée 166ème Édition is a blend of 140 wines from 13 different years. The youngest is from the year 2010 and the oldest dates back to 1998. In all, reserve wines from the House’s extensive library made up 42% of the final blend, bringing the breadth and roundness so essential to each Édition of Krug Grande Cuvée.

Over 20 years of careful craftsmanship were necessary to enjoy Krug Grande Cuvée 166ème Édition.

The final composition of this champagne is 45% Pinot Noir, 39% Chardonnay and 16% Meunier.

This mouthwatering Champagne feels like a swathe of raw silk on the palate, where flavors of sun-dried white cherry, toast and Meyer lemon peel are accented by expressive saffron, ground coffee and mandarin orange peel aromas. Long and racy on the honey-, spice- and smoke-laced finish.

In Champagne, where tradition often bows to the calendar, Krug chose a different master: vision. Founded in 1843 by Joseph Krug, the House was built on a radical belief for its time — that true greatness could be achieved not by the declaration of a single year, but by the art of composition itself.
